These two, companion-set books (co-authored with Dr. William A. Lambos) are for anyone wanting to address and fix relationship issues and problems. The primary focus of My Loving Relationships is on those issues most pertinent to the individual – the “I,” “me,” and “you” issues relevant to the quest for satisfying, loving relationships. The focus of Our Loving Relationship is on “us,” “we,” and “me and you” issues pertinent to a couple and their relationship. In many ways, people’s loving relationships are the most important things in their lives – for anyone who “wants to avoid bad ones” and “wants to make good ones better,” these two books are must reads.

Marcia is starting anew – recently breaking up with a long-term boyfriend, just completing her Ph.D. and setting out for a teaching position. The last thing she wants is a new relationship.  She has a chance meeting with Jack, a handsome, buff, somewhat older man, who is to figure highly in both her personal and professional life. Remember those memorable pearls of wisdom your mom and dad gave you… “Take all you want, but eat all you take.” And even into adulthood… “Children become better children when they have children of their own.” Included are 50 vignette moments - each concluded with its respective pearl of wisdom. Most are from Dr. Emener’s parents; others he got from other people while walking a beach, at biker bars and dockside restaurants.

The title says it all: not just existing or struggling through life, but living life – “any way you want to” and “in spite of the unwanted and undeserved dirty deals your life may have handed you.” Seriously and humorously, the book’s 22 chapters are enjoyable and fun reads, offering many opportunities to look within and appreciate that in spite of outside turmoil and difficulties, you still can live a meaningful and happy life.
